MONDAY, APRIL 30th @ 6 p.m.
Corrupt Los Angeles of the 1940′s is the background for this literary salon taking place at the legendary Musso & Franks with author John Buntin . How this influences and sets the stage for the work of Raymond Chandler will be up for discussion. John will also sign his book, “L.A. Noir-the Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City”. The first literary salon was a blast, and quite tasty too. L.A. lit historian Howard Prouty will also be on hand to talk about important book seller Jake Zeitlin.
Los Angeles has such a rich literary history, frequently crossing paths or overshadowed by the film business. The LAVA Salons are a wonderful night out in appreciation of our own particular style. and few places have more style than Mussos.
