Andrew McCarthy takes “the Longest Way Home”

SUNDAY,OCTOBER 21st, 6:30 pm @ the AERO THEATER in Santa Monica

Most of us think of films like, “Pretty In Pink”, “St. Elmo’s Fire” , “Class” or “Weekend At Bernie’s” when we think of actor Andrew McCarthy. This actor & director has embarked on another career as well, one that has made him an editor-at-large for National Geographic Traveler as well as a writer for the New York Times, The Atlantic and the Wall Street Journal. He is a multiple award winning travel writer , and his new book, “The Longest Way Home-One Man’s Quest for the Courage to Settle Down” takes us around the world with him to locales like Patagonia, Vienna, up the Amazon, Kilimanjaro & Dublin among other locales. It is also however, a story of the self and how these journeys bring him face to face with himself and the relationships in his life, a personal story, yet a universal one as well.

Andrew will be signing his new book at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica this Sunday, October 21st at 6:30 pm before a screening of a film very evocative of 80′s excess, “Less than Zero” which also features co-stars Robert Downey Jr, Jamie Gertz and James Spader.. That will be followed by conversation and a Q & A about the careers of Andrew McCarthy. It’s truly a series of wonderful adventures that take our writer around the globe in search of something that is always within , no matter where we are.

We hope you can join us at the Aero this Sunday, for a trip down memory lane, and a trip around the globe.

If you can’t make it to Santa Monica, we’re glad to send a signed copy of the adventure to you wherever you are.

See you at the AERO!
